North to Alaska: Fulfilling a Dream

We had a chance to have some fun while saying our "goodbyes" to family and friends in the days preceding the start of our great adventure. Memorial Day gave us the opportunity to reminisce with South Dakota family. In early June, it was great to help daughter, Tess, and husband, Derrick, to celebrate her birthday in Brainerd, MN. The big one, Steve's Mom's 90th birthday, gave us all the opportunity for several parties up to and including her actual birthday on June 19th. It's always hard to say "good bye" to loved ones, but on June 21st, the excitement of our upcoming adventure moved us along Highway 2 West to just beyond Devil's Lake, ND and into a very pleasant public campground at Larimore Dam Recreation Area.
